50. ANGEL
“But she’s human!”
Mason squeezed my hand as I tensed.
I had never been good with speeches in high school. I hated public speaking and standing in front of all the people was making my anxiety rise.
Nate had told me to keep calm because some of them would be able to smell my emotions. I was trying my best to keep my fear at pain but there was nothing I could do about my anxiety.
The tension in the room made my stomach roll.
I was waiting for someone to attack.
Lucas’s hold on my hand tightened painfully and then slowly loosened. I gripped his hand tightly, afraid that he was going to let my hand go.
“I don’t see the problem,” Nate said from the other side of Lucas. “Humans are part of our history and I’m not talking about the things that happened on Earth. Our ancestors have bonded humans.”
“And for anyone wondering, Angel will be able to carry our offspring,” Mason told them.
“You can’t share her!”
The voice was familiar. My eyes darted to the right where their parents stood
