Chapter Forty-One
Sullen
“A lunch date?” Sullen’s mother asked.
Sullen pressed her forehead against the bathroom door and closed her eyes. Going on a lunch date with her mother, and dealing with her pushy agendas wasn’t what Sullen wanted to do, but she’d take one for the pack.
“Yeah,” Sullen said, slipping into a pair of jeans, and zipping them up. “I just thought that we left things on a bad note the other day, and it would be nice to have a peaceful lunch. On me.”
“Of course!” she said. “Let me get ready, and I’ll meet you at the pack house.”
“See you then.”
Sullen ended the call and glanced over her shoulder to where Roan watched with an amused smile. “There is a Mexican restaurant uptown that has awesome margaritas. I’m sure you can take her over, and she’ll fall right into your trap.”
Sullen chuckled and continued to get ready. Roan’s body heat warmed her back when he stepped over and slipped something into her pocket.
