Across the ocean, in an airport.
Adam went to the airport early in the morning and waited for over two hours before Paul arrived.
When Paul saw Adam come to receive him, he took off his sunglasses and said expressionlessly, “The flight was delayed.”
“Yeah, I heard the announcement. Let’s go.” Adam took the luggage from him.
After getting into the car, he looked at Paul and asked, “Would you like to go straight back to the castle or eat something first?”
Paul looked out the window, his tone devoid of any emotion. “The castle. I want to see Coral first.”
“Okay.”
When they passed a flower shop, Paul asked the driver to pull over and got out of the car to buy a bouquet of flowers.
Before long, the car stopped at the cemetery under Linders Range.
Paul walked to Coral’s grave with the flowers in his hands, crouched down, and placed the bouquet in front of her tomb. He ran his slender fingers over the photo on the tombstone.
“Coral, I’m here to see you.”
