“Mom.” Rebecca hugged her mother tightly. “Don’t frown. It’s a happy day."
"I'm so glad you're here, sweetheart," her mom said in relief when they pulled out from each other's embrace.
"Why didn’t you just send her away?” Rebecca said with contempt.
“It’s your dad,” Dinah replied and frowned. "He insisted she stayed.”
Rebecca shook her head playfully. “Now, now, what a useless man he is. He might’ve built an entire empire, but he’s incapable of making the most beautiful woman in the world happy.”
Izaak, who was listening to the mother-daughter duo, shook his head and stealthily went back to the sofa and sat beside his wife. Strangely, she looked anxious and uncomfortable.
On the other end, Dinah giggled. Her eldest daughter was the joy of her life since she was born. That never changed and had no signs of changing ever.
