'Please repeat," I said to Dr. Shannon.
'Miss. Jasmine Blackman," she began, 'Your mother, Susan Blackman, is going to be alright. You don't have to cry anymore," she said, hugging me.
'You don't have to cry anymore. No more painful tears now. She's going to be okay. She's scheduled for surgery first thing tomorrow morning. She'll be alright, I promise you. No more tears."
But I was crying. I was crying with happiness this time.
Some generous person had paid for mom's transplant. Not only that, they also paid off the medical bills from her previous treatments, the bills I was still paying for.
I couldn't believe this was really happening. I wouldn't be losing my mother after all.
