“They were the ones drinking. I didn’t drink that much.” Martin’s voice was as calm as usual, if not more jovial than usual.
Jade stared at the heavy traffic ahead of her and slowed down. She asked casually, “Are you a local?”
When she asked this, she remembered that she did not know him at all.
Martin’s eyes, hidden in the darkness, shone briefly and faintly. He looked at her and answered calmly, “No. My house is in Kargos City. It’s not far from here. After I graduated, I came here in search of work.”
