Jewel let out a deafening, piercing scream as though she was being torn apart.
"Don't provoke her!" the firefighter warned me again. However, Chris stopped him this time.
It seemed Chris knew that Jewel wasn't serious about wanting to die—she was just playing a game, so there was no real way to provoke her. This whole act was just for show to make everyone believe she was on the verge of a breakdown and ready to take her life.
