Chapter 388
Ellie was released from the observation room three days later.
She didn't experience any rejection, and she seemed perfectly fine. She recovered better and much faster than Keith had expected.
"It seems like the heart suits her well." Lisa sighed.
"Maybe the owner of the heart isn't ready to leave this world," I said, holding a large bouquet of flowers.
I couldn't help but quietly ask Lisa, "Do you know anything about the donor?"
Lisa glanced at me sideways. "No, that's confidential information."
I knew that too, but I wasn't asking for any other reason. I was just impressed by Ellie's savior.
The door to the observation room opened, and Ellie was wheeled out. Although Brandon and I had visited her, seeing her come out was different.
The door to the observation room was the door to rebirth, the door to a life where Ellie would be as healthy and normal as anyone else.
"Bran, Mae, Liz!" Ellie was so excited that her voice was like a dolphin's squeal when she called out to us.
