Sunburned, exhausted, and considerably lighter in the wallet, they collapsed onto a bench in the shade, surveying the hard-won spoils of their adventure.
"Well, darling," Julian chuckled ruefully, gesturing to the bulging suitcases at their feet, "at least we have enough tacky souvenirs to last a lifetime."
Charlotte couldn't help but laugh, leaning her head against his shoulder as the chaos of the market swirled around them. "And quite the collection of stories to go with them, my love."
