Uncle Keenan hesitated for a second before his voice brightened with a familiar warmth. "It's been a long time, Eva! I'm doing alright. How about you?"
"I'm good, Uncle Keenan. Actually, I just secured an overpass project. Thought maybe you'd be interested?"
I wasn't really sure what to say after that. The last time I'd seen him, I was probably just a kid. Our families had never been close, and after Grandpa passed away, the distance between us only grew.
