Chapter 47: Heart-to-Heart with Sophia
The scent of freshly ground coffee beans mingled with the sweet, sticky smell of cinnamon rolls cooking in the oven of Sophia's warm apartment. Curled up on the old leather sofa, hands wrapped around a steaming mug, Olivia watched her best friend bustle around in the kitchen with great zeal.
"Okay," she assumed, joining Olivia and plonking down her own cup of coffee. "Spill; I know that look on your face. What's up?"
Olivia took a sip of her coffee, buying some time while she tried to collect her thoughts. "It's Mark," she finally admitted, her voice soft.
