Chapter 133: Saying Goodbye
The sun was setting, casting an orange and pink tint in its wake over the silent beach. Olivia stood right at the water's edge, with soft waves touching her bare feet, staring across the horizon. She had chosen this place specifically: it was the place she and Nathan took their first kiss; where they had planned their future together. Now it would be where they say goodbye.
She heard his footsteps in the sand before she saw him; the cadence of it was familiar, causing her heart to clench. Olivia turned, watching as Nathan approached, his hands shoved deep in his pockets, his expression a mixture of sadness and resignation.
"Hey, Liv," he said softly, coming to stand beside her.
