The rhythmic beep of the heart monitor sliced through the sterile silence of the hospital room. Olivia lay in the narrow bed, her skin pale against the stark white sheets, her eyes fixed on the ceiling tiles above. She'd been here before, but this time felt different. More urgent. More frightening.
