Chapter 120: Emotional Ultimatum
The light of the late evening sun streamed through the leaves of the ancient oak, casting a shadow on her face, which was dappled as she sat on the public park bench. She'd come to try and clear her head, to find some peace among such uneasy thoughts, but her moment of solitude was ripped to shreds as she heard hurried footsteps coming nearer.
"Olivia!" Nathan breathed somewhat heavily as he ran to her, his hair tousled by the wind and his gaze brightened by an intensity that allowed her heart to gear up in its rapid race.
"Nathan? What are you doing here?" Olivia gasped, surprised by his sudden appearance.
He dropped onto the bench beside her and ran a hand through his hair in that nervous gesture she recognized. "I've been looking everywhere for you. I. I can't do this anymore, Liv. I can't keep waiting, wondering, and hoping."
Olivia had a knot forming in her stomach. She had known that it would have something to do with Nathan sooner or later. But now she didn't really feel up
