I could sort of understand Zane’s about-turn in attitude.
While we met in Landon’s bed-and-breakfast, Zane had a rather supercilious air about him as if he was better than me.
He probably pegged me as an out-of-work housewife looking for some excitement.
In a way, he was right.
But I was looking for my husband instead of excitement.
I bet it humbled him to know the real identities of Kingsley and Kieran, hence his nervousness at the table.
Kingsley smiled placidly. ‘Relax, we are all friends here. Amiyah and I owe you a huge debt of gratitude, in fact. If not for your photos, we wouldn’t have located Kieran so soon.’
Kingsley produced a card from his wallet. ‘If you need help in the future, give me a call. My door’s always open to friends.’
Zane took the card with both hands.
Kingsley was obviously in a good mood.
He could make anyone feel at ease if he wanted to, as I could testify.
