Flustered, Zane fumbled for a tissue in his backpack. ‘Um, I’m sorry if I bothered you. I won’t—’
The rest of his words died in his throat as I gave him a fierce hug. ‘Thank you! Thank you so much!’
Hesitantly, he patted my shoulder. ‘Uh, you are welcome?’
A hotel guest waiting for the lift gave us a curious glance, probably wondering why we were both sitting on the floor.

Landon helped me up.
I still felt a bit wobbly on my legs.
My head was spinning.
But it was a good feeling.
I was giddy with joy.
‘I didn’t do anything to her, I swear!’ Zane explained to Landon
