CHAPTER 32 MIDTERM MADNESS
The autumn season was gradually turning into the winter season and the atmosphere at Berkeley was tense due to mid-terms. In the Fall semester, for Jenna, it was more like coffee and cramming, taking notes, and getting lost in more intricate discussions on environmental policy.
Her small dormitory room became a sort of a headquarters where colouring notes were sticked on the walls and, textbooks accumulated in piles in every free corner. The place where Lily and her roommate lived had been nicknamed “The Bunker,” an apt moniker for an academic bunker.
One Tuesday evening, which was definitely not lucky for Jenna, she was bent over her computer with swollen eyes due to excessive screen time. She was engrossed in a research paper work on the external effects of carbon taxation when she received a familiar ringtone on her phone.
