CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY – SOMETHING HORRIBLY WRONG
Rebecca stared at her phone, the screen illuminated with Luca's contact information. She had tried calling him several times, but each attempt went straight to voicemail. With a frustrated sigh, she shoved the device into her pocket and hefted her backpack onto her shoulders.
"I guess I'll have to tell him in person," she muttered to herself, stepping onto the bus bound for Florence.
As she settled into her seat, an elderly woman beside her smiled warmly. "Heading to Florence, dear?"
Rebecca nodded, forcing a smile. "Yes, I have some... important news for someone there."
"Oh, how exciting! Is it a surprise?"
Rebecca chuckled nervously. "You could say that."
The bus rumbled to life, pulling away from the station. Rebecca gazed out the window, her mind racing with thoughts of Luca and the baby growing inside her. How would he react? Would this change everything between them?
