CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY THREE – REBECCA SAVES THE DAY
Rebecca hesitated, still wary. But she trusted Luca's judgment. She opened the door slowly, revealing a tall, broad-shouldered man with a grim expression.
"Boss," Marco said, nodding to Luca. His eyes lingered on Rebecca, curiosity and suspicion warring in his gaze. "Who's this?"
"A friend," Luca said simply. "One who saved my life today."
Marco's eyebrows rose, but he didn't comment further. Instead, he turned back to Luca. "The Rossis are making their move," he reported. "They're claiming you're dead, trying to take over our territory."
Luca's jaw clenched. "We need to respond. Show them I'm still very much alive."
Rebecca's heart sank. It seemed her plea for peace had fallen on deaf ears.
But then Luca continued, surprising her. "But not with violence," he said. "Call a meeting of the families. All of them. It's time we put an end to this war once and for all."
Marco looked shocked. "Boss, are you sure? They'll see it as weakness-"
"They'll see it as strength," Luca interrup
