She was molested by Hamilton's boys but she had no one to tell because no one believed her. Jeremy cleared his throat and spoke up. "Have you file a report at the police station?" he asked. "No one wants to listen to me. I went to the station to file a report but they gave no attention to me" Linda sobbed. Jeremy stared at her with pity. He wondered how she had been coping with the trauma. He couldn't even cope with his family's death. "How long had this been going on? "Jeremy asked. "4 years now"Linda confessed. "4 years? Why didn't you tell anyone about it? You could have filed a report and get a lawyer. "Jeremy stated. Mary chuckled beside Linda and faced Jeremy with a straight face. "Look here mister, I don't know if you've been living under the rock or something. This is mecianda where no one cares about what is going on with you. I know I shouldn't be saying this but three years ago I filed a report on rape and what did they do about it? nothing!!!!. Just last year 12 girls went missing and even when their families filed a report to the police they did nothing about it. This is mecianda where the rich oppresses the poor. "Mary's confession shocked both Jeremy and Yomi, they couldn't do anything but stare at Mary. "Well, that so bad Mary. I had no idea "Jeremy said. Mary laughed and shook her head. "It's okay no one wants to hear my boring stories anyways". Jeremy gave her a long stare and read through her, she looked unhappy and that explains her house. "I'll do everything.? no one deserves such molestation" "I'll appreciate you sir" Linda cried and Mary pats her back to console her. "You need to file a report at the police department then we will take the matter to the court. we need more evidence. That video won't prove anything in the court"Jeremy stated Linda nodded and wipe the tears off her face. "That's all the evidence I have sir. Does that mean my molesters won't get punished? "she asked to make sure they were going to put her rapists to justice. "Justice will be served. I'll make sure" Jeremy assured. It wasn't going to be easy since he just got to mecianda but he was going to help this girl get justice because no one deserves to face such trauma. no one! "I'll follow you to the station tomorrow to file a report" he promised. Just then his phone rang, it was Lisa calling. "Sorry but I have to take this" he stood up and walked to the other side of the room. "Hello Lisa, a detective? Alright, I'll soon be on my way "he hanged up the phone. As he turned back to the living room a picture caught his attention and he stared at the picture showing a happy Mary with a guy. They looked happy. She even looked happy and different there but now she looked like a mental patient. "I have to leave now, I have a visitor at the firm. I'll come to you tomorrow and we go to the station. Take care miss Linda and miss Mary." He shook hands with them and walked out of the house into his car with Yomi. "I feel so sad that someone could face such trauma for so long "Yomi spoke out inside the car. He was pissed that the victims are suffering and the accused are walking freely. "There is more to this country Yomi. it seems there is a lot of crimes going on " Jeremy rested his head on the car seat and close his eyes thinking deeply. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ********** when Jeremy got to his firm, he met Lisa and Lara speaking freely like they were friends. "Detective! "Jeremy called her name and she turned around to face him. "Attorney Akinsola" Lara greeted him. "How about we take this to my office? Lisa lead her to my office please"Jeremy ordered and walked to his office. He sat down and waited for Lara to come inside. "Attorney, how are you? How have you been doing? " Lara asked. "I think I'm good, how is your shoulder? " Lara touched her left shoulder that was bandaged. "Better now but still hurting". "That's great" Lara bought out a paper from her pocket and hand it over to Jeremy. "I have decided to take the case of that woman.? you were right, someone could be waiting for her and she didn't deserve to die like that. That paper in your hand contains my address and phone number. " Jeremy chuckled at the paper she gave to him. she could have just texted him but she came to his firm to give him a piece of paper containing her information. "Why? " he asked. "Security reasons. There is another thing attorney" Jeremy looked up from the paper as she speaks. "I heard the shooter arrested committed suicide on the evening of his arrest." "What? How come? "Jeremy inquired, how could the shooter have died? What is going on here? He thought. "I have no idea. I think, something is fishy here but I can't seem to get it. No one is talking about the woman's death at the station. There is no cause for her death. "Lara explained. Jeremy stared at her and contemplate whether to tell her about his discovery or not but he didn't know who was working for who. "That's is so absurd! have they performed the autopsy of the woman? " Lara shook her head stating that she knows nothing about it. "I'll find out but I must say that the woman's death is more than a murder". "We have to get to the bottom of this then. "Jeremy stated. He bought out his iPad and show Lara the video and article posted by Mary. "I need a favor from you. when you are done watching the video I'll ask you ". Lara watched the video with rapt attention and when she was done she proceeded to read the article. After she finished reading, she let out a long sigh and drop the iPad on the table. "How could anyone be so wicked and selfish? Why would they do this to her?"Lara lamented. "I visited her detective, I told her I was going to help and take her case because no one deserves this kind of molestation "Jeremy replied. "She hasn't filed a police report, they refused to file her case". "What the hell is going on with the police department nowadays? " Lara touched her face and breathe out. "I'm going to file a report but first I need to see the victim". "We will come to the station tomorrow. " Jeremy informed. "Alright, the attorney I should take my leave now. "Lara announced. "About the woman's death I'll look more into it and get back to you " she promised and walked out of the office. Yomi entered Jeremy's office after she left the firm. "Is she to be trusted? "Yomi asked. "I don't know yet but, she seems like a truthful person. "Jeremy replied. **** At Mary's residence, a shadow lurks around in the dark waiting for a perfect time to attack. "I hope I get my justice. do you think that lawyer would help? "Linda asked. Mary pats her back and says a few words of encouragement to her. "He seems like a good person" she replied. The sound of their door banging send them standing up from where they sat. "What is going on? "Linda quaked. "Hide, let me found out who it is?". Mary grabs her gun and quietly walked to her door, her heart beating faster than the normal rate. She peeped through the door and saw no on. Her instinct was telling her not to go outside but she did the opposite. She opened the door and came outside. The cold night breeze sends shivers to her body.
