76 Not What It Looks Like
The night was slowly turning into morning, and Alexandra found herself still at the party with her friends. She had arrived with her closest friend, Beth, but now Beth seemed completely absorbed in spending time with her boyfriend, Castor.
Alexandra felt a sense of urgency to leave, as her mind was consumed with thoughts of Carlos and her need for rest. She approached Beth, trying to get her attention. "Hey, Beth. I think I'm going to head home now. Can you give me a ride?"
Beth glanced at her, a hint of reluctance in her eyes. "Oh, Alexandra, I'm really sorry, but Castor and I were planning on staying a bit longer. Can't you wait a little longer?"
Alexandra sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and understanding. She didn't want to impose on Beth's plans, but she also didn't want to linger in a place that only reminded her of the rest she needed.
"It's okay, Beth. I understand. I'll find my own way home," Alexandra replied, trying to hide her disappointment.
