Chapter 32: The DNA Test
The following day marked the start of a new week at work, and things were proceeding smoothly. A meeting had taken place earlier, and it had concluded without any major hiccups.
Hours after the meeting had adjourned, a well-dressed woman accompanied by a young child, approximately three or four years old, entered Beth’s office. The woman exuded an air of wealth and sophistication.
“Where is Louis Willer? I heard that you’re his secretary,” the woman inquired, her voice unnaturally sweet.
“Good morning, ma’am. How can I assist you today?” Beth responded professionally, maintaining her composure.
“Are you deaf or something? I want to see Louis,” the woman suddenly shrieked, her demeanor changing abruptly.
Beth was taken aback by the woman’s outburst. She had never encountered such rudeness in her professional life.
“Do you have an appointment with him?” Beth inquired, her voice firm despite her inner turmoil.
“Do I need an appointment to see the father of my child?” the woman reto
