Chapter 15

DIANA's perspective I saw Neon and Silas heading towards the office when I came out of my room. I decided to serve them some coffee. I went into the kitchen and asked the servant to have them prepared immediately. I took the cups of coffee with a sly smile, I got to the office door and was about to push the door open when I heard their voices. I halt in my movement. “...the ceremony where you have to make Diana your Luna, Alpha.” “Tell them, the ceremony has been canceled,” Neon muttered without a glint of emotion in his voice, I did not know when the cups slipped out of my hand and fell. “Who is there!” Silas snarled and opened the door, he looked surprised seeing me at the door. “Diana.” He called. “Diana?” Neon called after him and I heard his footsteps as he approached the door. I was still unable to move from where I stood. He has canceled the ceremony, and he didn’t even let me know. Does that mean, he is still into the human girl? “What are you doing here Diana?” Neon stepped closer. I quickly recovered from my trance and squatted to pick up the broken cups. “Don’t touch that, you will get hurt.” Neon squats beside me and holds my hands. “I’m sorry, I did not mean to startle you, I saw you going into the office and I was worried that you might not have taken anything all day, I decided to bring something....” I explained in a shaky voice. Neon lifts me slowly his hand holding my wrist. “It’s okay, Diana, come in. Silas called the head servant to take care of this.” “It’s fine Alpha, I will take care of the mess,” Silas muttered with his eyes fixed on me. “Why are you awake at this time?” Silas asked with his eyes still on me. I rolled my eyes at him cautiously for Neon not to be aware of it and followed him into the office. I will do everything to prove that Aria is unfit to be his mate, and the ceremony will be held. I will leave him no choice but to choose me as his Luna, when the human girl is gone he won’t have any choice. The position was mine, and I won’t let anyone take it from me. “Are you hurt?” Neon asked when I was seated. “I’m fine, Neon. You don’t have to worry about me.” I made a sad face. “I’m worried about you, Diana.” His hand squeezed mine over the table. “I heard you canceled the ceremony. I was just a little surprised.” I looked away from our hands and stared at him. “I told you Diana to help me groom Aria to be Luna, you are the only one who could teach her and she’s aware now that I am a werewolf.” He leaned his back on the chair, letting go of my hands. “How?” I feigned ignorance. “She saw me killing a rogue, and I didn’t even expect that, she was so scared when I tried to get close to her.” “Because she’s human.” I snorted. “That’s why I need your help. I want to make her Luna. It would be a lot easier now that she’s aware of my identity as a werewolf.” “It’s impossible, Alpha!” I didn’t know when I snapped at him. I took in a deep breath and forced a smile on my lips. “She’s not qualified to be Luna she won’t pass the elder's evaluation and she is too weak, powerless, and naive.” “I won’t let you speak of my mate like that and the future Luna of the pack!” He growled. I lowered my gaze and bit the side of my cheek. “I’m sorry, Alpha.” I blinked the tears that were making my sight blurry and clenched my jaw tightly. “I spent some time with her earlier today, Neon and she told me a lot about her. I will do my best and make her get to love you and train her to be Luna. Leave it to me, Alpha.” I said with my head still bowed. “I trust you, Diana.” “I have a position for you, I will have you promoted to Beta Female when Aria becomes Luna. You will live in the pack with us, as family.” This was his plan, and then I will make mine. I excused myself that I was feeling so sleepy and left his office. I couldn’t bear to stay in the same place as him when he had such thoughts about me. I can’t believe this was the same man I loved all the years, I should be a Beta Female to his Luna. Ridiculous! All my life I have been groomed to be the Luna, and not to serve anyone but to make them serve me. Plan A has been executed, I will go with my plan B. I smirked and came out of the office. “Diana.” I jumped at the sound of the voice behind me. I spun around with a glare. “I am watching you, Diana. Just want you to know.” Silas said plainly. I folded my hands. “So?” “Be careful.” I chuckled. “You should know your place, Silas. You are just a Beta, stop acting all high and mighty and stick to your position and that’s beside Neon. You will always be below him.” Silas chuckled darkly and stepped closer to me, closing the distance between us, and placing a hand on the wall above my head. “I have no time for chit-chat, I waited here to warn you to stay off Aria and whatever plan you are plotting, you better not do it because I am watching you.” He whispered into my ears. “Stay away from her.” I swallowed at the intensity in his voice. “Neon wants me close to her, I have to teach her to be a Luna and the basic etiquette a Luna should have,” I smirked, seeing the annoyance in his face. “I would find someone else to do the job, I have warned you, you will be in trouble if anything happens to her.” His voice sounded dreadful, and I could tell Silas wasn’t messing around. He was starting to get on my nerves, did he catch on? What was wrong with him? “You won’t be able to do anything as long as I am doing what the Alpha says.“ “Alpha might not be able to see that you’re messing around with his mate, don’t make me show it to him. You will hate me, Ana.” What does Silas know? I know he doesn’t like me, he has never wanted me to be their Luna. I will prove him wrong, when I get the position as Luna it will be over for him. “You have no power. Silas.” I chuckled slightly. “...and there’s nothing you can do.” “Try me.” Silas withdrew his hand and backed away from me. “Why are you protecting her?!” I shouted. “What is she to you? She doesn’t even deserve to be here!” Silas ignored me and walked out of the hallway, I watched him leave till he was out of sight. I stomped my feet on the ground. “Aria will never be Luna, as long as I live.” I snarled.
