Liam and Lawrence's families were still there as I left the Pierce residence.
Albert suggested we leave first, mentioning that Emily would stay with him and that he would handle the rest. I didn't want to stick around and listen to their endless arguments anyway. With Albert's decision being final, there was really nothing left to discuss.
Once inside the car, Calvin cautiously asked, "Should we head back to Queenie's place?"
Keeping my gaze fixed on the window, I replied, "Let's go home."
He seemed taken aback for a moment before quickly nodding in agreement. "Yes, let's go home. That's a great idea."
During the entire ride, Calvin kept trying to engage me in conversation, but I wasn't in the mood to talk.
He wanted to know what Albert had told me, but I had no intention of sharing that information. Although I had my own set of questions, I was simply too exhausted to delve into any of them.
As soon as we walked through the door, Calvin wrapped me tightly in his arms.
