Chapter 38 Call Me and I'll Be There
Dylan gave me the address of his apartment, and I started the navigation.
The entire drive was silent, with only the sound of the GPS filling the air.
The situation was too embarrassing, and I didn't know how to bring it up.
When we arrived at his apartment building, he didn't get out of the car. Instead, he looked at me.
"Summer, what's going on between you and Calvin? I've been abroad all these years, and all I know is that you two got married."
I looked at him, not knowing what to say.
What could I say? Should I tell him about how Calvin brought home one woman after another over the past three years? Or that my cancer had relapsed, and I didn't know how much time I had left?
In the end, I simply shook my head. "Dylan, forget it. I'm getting divorced anyway, so it doesn't matter."
That was genuinely how I felt. Divorce was inevitable, and my time was precious. I didn't want to waste it on Calvin.
