27 One Man Left.
As the sheriff's men began to move the injured man onto a makeshift bed, they heard another commotion outside.
“Now who or what is that again?”
“Let me through!” They heard a voice shout. “Let me through. I'm his friend. I need to be sure he's okay.”
Sorrentino looked up at his son.
“Hey isn't that?...”
“Terrilo!” Gavadiol was already striding forward. Before he got to the door, the girl herself appeared, a deputy right behind her.
“Apologies, she’s a feisty one.” He panted.
Terrilo did not look like she cared less. She just shouted, “Gavadiol!” and flew into his arms.
“Gavadiol I heard you were all alone when they came in initially! I am so sorry for not coming sooner. The news just filtered to us at the circus camp. How are you?” she drew back and examined him anxiously. “Did you get injured anywhere? I can fix a bit of wounds too did you know?”
“No, I am fine,” Gavadiol said gently somewhat embarrassed. Although it felt mighty good to be doted over, they were in public.
