Chapter 66
"How's your health lately, Joshua?" Jayden asked.
I glanced at the bottle of pills on my nightstand. "I'm fine. I haven't been angry, I've kept my emotions in check, and I've been taking my medication on time."
"Good. Remember to come to the hospital for your follow-up and infusion the day after tomorrow," he reminded me gently.
Then, hearing someone call for him in the background, he quickly ended the call with a brief goodbye.
After the call ended, I raised my eyes to the brilliant sunlight streaming through the window. My gaze then shifted to the phone screen.
My phone wallpaper was a picture of Sophia. I had taken it before we were married. She was smiling, radiant and pure. A stark contrast to the person she was now.
Could Jayden's accident really have been her doing?
Shaking off the thought, I got up abruptly and stormed out of my room, heading straight to Edison's.
When I heard he'd be staying here, I made sure to give him the guest room furthest from the master bedroom.
