Chapter 55 "May I ask?", Adrian asked quietly, afraid to raise Alpha Max's anger. "What stopped you from marking her? Does she have a mate?. "No..I perceived..", Alpha Max paused. He had perceived rejection when he had gone close to her,but he wasn't going to tell anyone that, except she wanted to. He had only over- heard her explaining to Rachelthat she was rejected. If she had kept something that vital away from her Luna,he wouldn't want to be the one who would tell the world about her dark past. He was an Alpha and he would never be schooled on anything,not even by the council of elders. "She doesn't have a mate and that's all that matters", Alpha Max said with finality.
