CHAPTER 21: RESCUED

My heart raced as the black cloth covering my eyes was removed. I stared at my captor and tried to peek through the mask he wore, but my effort was fruitless as he adjusted the mask that concealed his face. A cold shiver ran down my spine as I sat tied to the rickety chair in the dimly lit basement.
The air was thick with tension. I looked away from him and decided to study my environment to see if there was any chance of escaping. My heart dropped when I saw that the door was locked, locking away my chance of freedom.
I tried to calm my racing heart, at least for the sake of my child. I couldn't afford to panic and cause complications for myself or my child, but I couldn't help but feel a slight panic, especially with the gun in my captor's hands, which made me worried.
Tears filled my eyes as I remembered how my captor had mentioned Damian, the father of my child. Did he hate me so much that he wanted me gone?
