The hum of the air conditioning greeted me as I stepped into my office the next morning. It was early. My fist clenched involuntarily as I thought about the day ahead. The project was an important one that I couldn’t afford to ignore.
As I made my way down the hallway, I passed a few of my staff. They were gathered around the large, sleek table in the conference room. They’d been working tirelessly on the new project, and today was no different. I squared my shoulders and entered the room, my Adam's apple bobbing as I swallowed my growing anxiety.
"Morning, everyone," I said, my voice steady. I could feel their eyes on me, expectant, and I knew they were waiting for my approval or criticism. "How’s everything coming along?"
