Chapter 9

Celia POV I looked over at Alex and frowned slightly. Alex immediately understood what I meant. He cleared his throat, raised his hand to hold up the bluetooth headset he habitually wore in his left ear, and walked past Leon and me. He deliberately lowered his voice a few notches, pretending he was on the phone. "Boss, that was embarrassing just now! I was cursing Alpha Leon, and he overheard me! He's the one who bought out that sculpture you liked! Forget it, let him have it! We'll buy something else later!" With that, Alex walked away. I looked at Leon and raised an eyebrow with an innocent look on my face. "Alpha Leon, that guy seems to be cursing you!" Leon's eyes fell on me with a probing look. "You don't know him?" I shook my head. "No! Alpha Leon, do you know that man? Why did he say that?" Leon narrowed his eyes. "You still haven't answered me. What are you doing here?" I sighed with chagrin, "I heard that they were hiring waitresses here today, so I came over for an interview." Leon still had a few moments of skepticism in his eyes. "And? Did you get the job?" I shook my head, shrugged, and spread my hands. "Nope. Their foreman said they only hire people with work experience as waitresses. I wasn't qualified." I tilted my head and asked, "Alpha Leon, so what are you doing here?" "Grandpa bought a statue from His Majesty. I came over to bring it back for him." At that moment, Leon's cell phone rang. He answered it, frowned slightly, and hung up with a "hmm". Then, he looked at me thoughtfully. "Where are you planning to go next?" I said lightly, "I'm going to go back and keep submitting resumes and keep looking for a job." Leon leaned down slightly, his tone low and irresistible. "Little girl, come with me somewhere. Since you want to make some money, why don't you work for me." "What?" I froze, and before I had time to consider anything, I was clutched by the wrist and led outside by him. ... Black Mist pack's manor. This was the second time I'd been to this place. The last time I'd been forced by Leon to come for a mating ceremony with him. The place was elaborately decorated with flowers, red carpet, ribbons, and balloons... I was in a state of shock. "Alpha Leon, what are you doing this time? You're not thinking of having another mating ceremony with me, are you?" Leon glanced sideways, giving me a sidelong glance. "What, you're dying to?" Suddenly, a nice girl's voice came out. "Uncle!" I looked over at her. A beautiful girl in a wedding dress lifted the hem of her dress and trotted over to Leon, asking anxiously, "Uncle, have you found a girl for me?" Leon looked at me. "How is she?" The girl in the wedding dress looked over at me and winked. I felt like I was being sold and crossed my arms to protect my chest. "What do you mean?" The girl in the wedding dress looked at me and pouted. "Uncle, the girl you found for me is prettier than I am as a bride." Leon narrowed his eyes and sneered, "Carolyn, are you sure? Is there something wrong with your eyes?" I shot Leon an exasperated look and realized what was going on. The girl in the wedding dress was Carolyn, Leon's niece. She was having a mating ceremony today and needed bridesmaids, so Leon brought me here. I muttered, "Alpha Leon, don't you know the rules? Bridesmaids have to be unmarried girls. Besides, she's your niece and I'm your Luna. How can I be her bridesmaid?" Carolyn was surprised. "So you are my uncle's Luna. You're Celia, right?" Carolyn enthusiastically took my hand and introduced herself with a smile. "Celia, my name is Carolyn. Leon is my uncle. My bridesmaids got stuck in traffic, so I need to find some girls to help me temporarily now. I can't worry about all the rules. Let's go, I'll take you inside to change first." Carolyn pulled me towards the dressing room. I turn around and give Leon a hard stare. Inside the dressing room. Carolyn pointed to several gowns hanging on hangers. "These are the four bridesmaid dresses I ordered. Celia, you can pick one to wear. You change here first, and I'll go out to see if the other three bridesmaids are here yet." "Okay." I picked a dress at random and went into the dressing room to change into it. It was a light blue halter dress with a slight ruffle. "Carolyn!" Suddenly, someone walked into the dressing room. I looked up and met the man at eye level. He kept staring at me, making me a little uncomfortable. At that moment, Carolyn came back just in time. "Lamont, what are you doing here?" The man turned his head to Carolyn and smiled gently, "I came to see how you're getting ready. Have the bridesmaids arrived?" Carolyn smiled, "Don't worry. They'll be here soon." "That's good." Lamont nodded, then looked over at me and asked, "By the way, who's this beautiful lady?" Carolyn smiled and pulled me over and introduced me, "She's the girl my uncle got for me as my bridemaid." Lamont extended a hand to me in a friendly manner. "Hello, and thank you for coming and helping us." Lamont was Carolyn's groom, a handsome, gentlemanly looking man. Inexplicably, I thought Lamont looked a little familiar, but couldn't remember where I'd seen him before. Out of politeness, I shook his hand back. "It's nothing." It should have been a gentle shake, but he suddenly rubbed his index finger against my palm. I froze, frowning at Lamont. "Lamont, let's go outside!" Carolyn asked me to meet the last bridesmaid here for her, and hurried out. A few minutes later, a woman pushed her way into the dressing room. "Hey! Where should I change into my bridesmaid dress?" Without looking up, I raised my hand and pointed. "Over there." Suddenly, the woman screamed in shock, "Celia? what are you doing here?" I looked up at her. It turned out to be Cynthia. I said slowly, "I'm here to earn money as a bridesmaid." Cynthia sneered and sized me up. "I thought you found a sugar daddy, but now you're here to earn money as a bridesmaid? You weren't dumped, were you?" I didn't say anything, looking down and continuing to look at my phone. Cynthia hummed smugly, "You deserved it! Do you really think those rich men will take you seriously? They're just flirting with you! Hey! This dress looks good on you. Take it off and let me wear it! You wear this one." Cynthia threw the last dress on the hanger in my face. I clenched my fists, not wanting to make a big deal out of it, and took the dress and walked to the changing room. After changing, Cynthia looked left and right in the mirror in satisfaction. "I am truly the most beautiful woman in the world!" I turned around and went to the restroom. Coming out of the restroom, I overheard a man and woman pulling and tugging at each other at the end of the hallway, and then the two of them sneaked into the storage room together. If I was right, the man was Lamont, Carolyn's groom, and the woman was Cynthia! I sneaked over to them. Inside the storage room, they were arguing. "Lamont, I can't believe you're going to have a mating ceremony with another woman!" "Cynthia, why are you here?" "I'm here to be a bridesmaid, but I never expected the groom to be you! No wonder you haven't been answering my calls lately!" "Cynthia, there's thirty thousand dollars in this card, consider it our breakup fee! You leave after the ceremony and don't make any trouble!" Cynthia said angrily, "Thirty thousand dollars? Do you think I'm a beggar? You have to give me at least three million dollars!" Lamont was a bit annoyed. "Cynthia, don't push your luck! I can call for security to throw you out right now!" I finally remembered why I thought Lamont looked familiar. Lamont had picked up Cynthia from the Arona Clinic earlier, and Cynthia had always been high-profile, showing off Lamont's picture everywhere. However, Lamont looked like a gentleman, but he turned out to be a scumbag!
