Mardrigo POV





"Something on your mind?, Darel." He began rudely. As always, Mardrigo was taking notes.



"I spoke to the hired investigator, " Darel said, as if he were now more important because he had a private investigator



"Which one?"



"Jack Helmant" Darel replied



Mardrigo chuckled and sneered at the same time "If you have Jack Helmant, you're dead meat" he said



"I like him" Darel said "He seems a lot smarter than the men you brought for me to work with"



"You want to talk or swap insults?"



"What do you want to talk about?" Darel asked with so much confidence



"I need her kidnapped, the clowns of men I sent to you initially, is nothing close to you" Finally, he admits



"OK"



"You got it. Here is what I will do, and you guys better do it fast. I would pay both of you any amount you ask for. We sign the deal, time is crucial here, so

(Phone Rings)





Helsi woke up, sweat dripping all over her body as if she had been dipped into water.



"Ohh mum" Helsi cried out, ignoring the disturbing phone call "Mum.." she wished she wasn't interrupted in her dream by the call "Who were those men?" she paused in realisation that she never saw them again after that night "Who??" She stood up, ran to her journal and wrote her dream down. She needed to tell her private investigator, she was glad she could remember some things to trace the murderer but sad that they died this way.



She wished she had more, then once again the call…





"Who the hell!" she said as she stared at the unknown number



She hesitated a little still and refused to pick the call



It wasn't long after four missed calls from the unknown call, Lusi called

Helsi's POV







I quickly arranged the documents on my table, I needed some documents which was not with me at the moment, so I called my driver to come pick me up and take me home to take those important documents



"Yes,"



"I would be there soon ma'am" David said over the phone



He has been faithful, and has been driving me around ever since I got married to Tom.

He came really fast, as if he was close by already





"That was fast" I said walking towards the car as he opened it for me



He did nothing but smile



I got down from the car immediately I got home, rushed in… only to find a nightmare



"What the hell are you doing in this house?" Tom's mum slams me even before I got in



"This is my husband's house" I said with all boldness





"I mean, of course, what can you vouge for?, you don't even take care of him"



"What the hell did.." I thought better than to argue with her. I walked past her and went upstairs to pick the documents



I was about to leave when I heard my phone beep and I picked it up only to see a message from an unfamiliar number which I didn't bother saving on my phone and it turned out to be Racheal, Tom's so-called friend and she was asking me to leave Tom.





'What in the world is wrong with you?" I asked her rudely over the phone but she seemed not to care as she giggled over the phone before saying a word.



'Tom isn't yours Helsi. How many times do I have to tell you" she said



'And what gives you the effrontery to say that?" I shot back at her over the phone but that seemed to make her giggle all the more



'Why don't you come on down to the hospital and find out what I mean with your own eyes"



She ended the call abruptly and my mind began racing around the possibility of what might be happening.



'Tom loves me!" I whispered to myself hoping it would give the slightest spark of hope but I was still prepared for the worst.



'Helsi! If I call you down here one more time, I'll make sure I kill you before Tom even gets back home" came my mother-in-laws voice once more and I knew that she was very serious with her threat this time around.



I quickly dashed down to the living and made out for the doorway before she could say anything and signalled David to take me to the hospital.



I got to the reception room and went straight to the nurse to clear myself in.



'Tom Diegro please"



'I'm sorry ma'am but Mr. Tom Diegro already has a visitor inside his room and hospital policy allows only visitors at a time" the nurse mumbled as she stared at me with a worried look on her face.



'I'm the patients' wife. I should be in there when anyone is because if anything happens to my husband God so help, I'll make sure you rot in jail"



The nurse gulped at the sound of my voice and gave me a clearance to his room and I walked hurriedly to his room unsure of what was waiting for me.



I got to the door of the Tom's hospital and reached out to the door knob but I was hesitant to open the door for a while so I took a deep breath, squared my shoulders and pushed the door open without knocking only to behold the sight of Racheal all over my husband as they kissed and enjoyed the comfort of each other.



'Why you shameless Woman" I yelled as I rushed to her side and yanked her by the hair and pulling her off Tom's body but she slapped in the process.



I dropped the bag which I was carrying facing Racheal head on as I wanted to retaliate for what she did but Tom surprisingly jumped in front of the both of us defending Racheal.



'Enough of this Helsi, don't you have any shame left as a woman. Why do you choose to humiliate yourself at every given opportunity?" Tom frowned as he pulled Racheal into an embrace.



'You are my husband Tom and I'm doing what every woman would do if they saw their husband with another lady" I yelled back doing my best to fight the urge to kick Tom right at his nuts and possibly throw Racheal out of his room.



'You call this a marriage? You only agreed to marry me because of my money so don't go acting now you actually care" Tom blasted me



My face paled at the words which I had just heard Tom use on me.



'That's what you've always thought of me isn't it?" I asked with a frown on face as Tom kept consoling Racheal right in front of me and I remembered the very first time I had gotten a call from her.



I was meant to be angry at him. I was meant to be mad at his words but somehow, I managed to find myself smiling and it seemed to scare him a bit.



'You win. I've had enough of your childish and ill-mannered behaviour. We're done Tom. I'm done with this marriage; it's basically a losing game anyways"



I picked up my bag from the floor and headed for the door.



A part of me felt relieved that I didn't have to put up with Tom and his mother anymore and a part of me felt downcast for not achieving my mission.







I went outside, breathing deeply and heavily. Then I entered the car for David to take me home, for the first time, we had a really nice conversation during the drive



"Have you seen Tom with another Lady?" Helsi asked



"He works with a lot of people both make and female, if you could be specific"



"Never mind" she said smiling, trying really hard to suppress her anger





Thankfully, Tom's mum was already sleeping when I entered



After a while, I got a call again… I ignored the call the first time, second and third until she called the fourth time which I angrily answered.



'It was wise of you to leave Tom…."



'Listen real good Racheal. The next time I get a call or text from you, threatening my life or anyone I love because of some low life man, I swear on my late parent's grave that I'll put a bullet through your skull" I sanctioned her and I could have sworn I heard her gulp at the sound of my voice but I knew she wasn't going to give up that easily to avoid appearing weak before me.



'You are all bark but no bite Helsi. I dare you to do your worst" she said, doing her best to hide the fear in her voice.





'How about I start by telling Tom that you have a child for another man" I added with a mischievous smile on my face which I now wished she could see from wherever she was.



There was a long silence from the other end of the phone as she remained stunned by what I had just told. It was a secret she hoped no one would ever find out, but somehow I managed to figure it.



'You're a bitch" she said as she ended the call with no further tough girl act.



I stood up from my bed and walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
