CHAPTER 88
KATHERINE.
I got to Courtlight clearing ten minutes earlier than Blake’s note asked me to and my heart threatened to beat out of my chest when I stepped into the clearing. It was a lovely, warm, breezy evening and it seemed like my smile was permanently fixed on my face as I took in the idyllic scenery: The sunflowers dotting the grass leading up to the trees, the moss-covered trunks and craggy rocks. The only thing missing was little woodland creatures.
Then in the center of the clearing, there was a table big enough for two laid out in splendor, complete with a pristine white tablecloth, silver goblets and cutlery, plates and napkins, and several domes covering what I assumed was dinner.
“Wow,” I muttered, still finding it hard to believe that Blake had done this for me. When he told me I'd figure something out regarding hanging out with friends, this was ‘definitely’ not what I had in mind and I couldn't help but wonder why he had decided to do this during my twenty-minute walk h
