“...What?” I blinked repeatedly at the words I’d just read like they’d change, but they didn’t. I swallowed. Dead… they’d all been found dead. My heart rate picked up and I stared at the article for several moments more before closing it and closing the browser with the words I’d just read lingering in my mind.
I swallowed again as my gaze drifted to the clock and upon seeing that it was time for me to leave, I walked around the help desk to head to the cloakroom and grab my bag, but when I was halfway across the lobby, Chelsea’s friend – the one that got snatched by a ghost right after Lenore the other day – walked into the library, looking frazzled. I paused.
“Lydia?” I called and her gaze locked onto me before a hint of relief crossed her expression and she quickly closed the distance between us. “Is everything okay?”
“Have you seen Chelsea?” she asked when she got to me and I shook my head sideways. “Have you spoken to her recently?”
