(Amber's POV)
The halls and corridors of this depressing place hadn't changed at all, but I pushed away the oppressive feelings with the hope that burned brightly in my chest because of the opportunity to see my mother.
"It's probably another dirty trick. They'll be some sort of condition, there always is." Rae grumbled.
"I know Rae, just…at least now we have Ryan behind us. Whatever this fucker throws at us, we can met it head on and not worry about repercussions."

They settled into a tense silence with each other as she was led through the corridors and into the sitting room where her father stood imperiously behind the chaise lounge that held the poised figures of Anna and Viola.
