The next morning, they called a staff meeting to share their plan. As they outlined their idea, they could see a mix of skepticism and curiosity on their employees' faces.
"We know this sounds... unusual," Ella said, "but we believe it's the right thing to do. Not just for the restaurant, but for the community."
Lucas nodded. "We're not asking you to believe in curses or ghosts. We're just asking you to help us try to make something good out of all this... negativity we've been experiencing."
As the meeting dispersed, Ella and Lucas could hear excited whispers and see nods of approval. It wasn't a universal endorsement, but it was a start.
"Well, that went better than I expected," Lucas said, running a hand through his hair.
Ella nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "I think they're just relieved we're doing something. Anything."
