Chapter 27 It’s Natural

**PRESENT**
I reached the top floor and used my werewolf senses to sniff out which room she was in. I mentally prepared myself for whatever was on the other side. I wasn't sure what I would do if she was up to no good. What more could I do?
I took the one thing that made her evil, and yet I still feel it wasn't enough. I took a deep breath and opened the door. The room was empty. I looked around for anything suspicious and only found a black box on the floor.
Before I could inspect it, Alaia appeared from the bathroom. She stopped in her tracks and looked at me. I could tell she already knew I was there.
"What do you want, brother," she asked. A towel was in her hands, and I could faintly smell blood.
We both shared identical glares. I didn't have a good excuse to be here, but I wouldn't tell her that. Instead, I needed to come up with a reason for barging in and fast.
