In the last two minutes, Ashley's voice sounded in Nathan's ears. "Hello? Is the signal patchy? Why can't I hear you?" Nathan had wandered into the shadows. Yet, he hoped that Ashley could always live in the sun. He wanted Ashley to stay peaceful and happy in a future without him. He didn't want her to investigate his death, as that could get her into trouble. What was that line of lyrics that came before the start of Ashley's ringtone? Nathan hummed the tune.
