Idris cast a cold glance at him and indifferently said, “If you can be here, Mr. Sanchez, why can’t I?”
Maxwell fell silent.
The atmosphere turned a bit awkward. Climbing over the wall now seemed utterly out of the question.
The doctors who had been standing there, realizing they were in the company of acquaintances, did not ask any further questions and left.
Only a middle-aged doctor remained, who I then learned was the head of the hospital.
Upon hearing that we had climbed over the wall to look for someone, he was somewhat bemused and said to me, “Mrs. Young, if you wanted to visit and look for someone, you could’ve just informed me. Climbing over the wall makes my hospital seem like some sort of crime scene.”
I smiled awkwardly, thinking that if I had known I could enter with Idris’ connections, I certainly would not have chosen to climb the wall.
