I was almost in tears after learning that someone else had gone missing within such a short time.
"Poor baby," I muttered softly. It broke my heart that a literal child had to be involved in all the chaos. Thoughts of the pain her parents and family would be in weighed down on me, too, because I knew my family would also be in pain if I were to vanish into thin air suddenly.
"What if she doesn't have parents or a family?"
For some reason, I sighed; the thought made my sadness even more significant.
I suddenly made a last-minute decision as I was about to drive past Saint Gregory's cathedral's tall, looming figure. I wasn't religious, but I wanted to pray to their God. Hopefully, he would keep the little girl safe until I could find them.
I saw a car in my rearview mirror. Still, I didn't immediately pay any attention to it as I quickly descended and hesitantly walked towards the building's entrance.
