Suddenly, I became self-aware of where I was. It had taken me a moment to recollect my thoughts, as I was still under the influence of what I had just seen through the trance. It was the worst thing ever; how could my mother plan such evil with a man like Gaius, one of the most feared wizards? I couldn't understand why she would want to destroy our pack; what would she gain by allowing her family to perish?
I glanced around the room, observing each of the dark, magical artefacts. Each of them had a different scent masked on it, so I picked one of the artifacts. It was a brown pot with a boiling green liquid; it had an offensive odour that could make anyone puke. I gently placed it back on the counter where it was. I held my nose with the tips of my two fingers to briefly prevent further taking in the odour.
