Chapter 88: Eleanor's Dilemma
Eleanor's hands tightened around the steering wheel as she drove through the streets, her mind going over the argument she had with Owen. She rubbed her temples, trying to ease the headache forming there, but the ache only intensified as Owen's words echoed in her mind.
“Does Levi know that Xander is his son?”
The question had come out of nowhere, a verbal slap Eleanor had managed to keep her composure during the argument, but now, alone in the confines of her car, Owen's question couldn't let her concentrate; she had started the day in a good mood. Her heart raced at the thought of Levi finding out about Xander, the son he didn't know existed. She swallowed hard, her throat dry, as she recalled the memories she'd tried so hard to bury.
Levi had hurt her deeply, more than anyone else ever could. The image of him with Evelyn, her best friend, remains a permanent image in her head. She had walked in on them together, their heads close, speaking in hushed tones, and they kissed.
