Chapter 111: The Horse Race
Nathan shadowed closely behind, his horse powerfully muscled, rapidly catching up.
Half a dozen drones wove through the air around the two riders, transmitting live, split-screen footage to the oversized display, each screen offering a unique perspective.
Turning back to the monitor, Giselle’s eyes narrowed on the unfolding race.
It wasn’t long before Nathan’s horse surpassed that of Henry. The speed was so breakneck that even the drones had trouble keeping up.
For some reason, the trail ahead suddenly became cluttered with large, fallen trees and other debris. Nathan’s horse easily cleared the obstacles, but Henry’s stopped short, rearing up in a piercing neigh, refusing to move.
Watching Nathan’s horse pull farther ahead, Giselle’s heart raced with anxiety.
