Had Elinor not seen that particular folder and the photos within it on Jaxson's computer, she might have been inclined to believe Edmond's words. However, having seen those images, she was skeptical of Edmond's claim about the special relationship he shared with Jaxson.
"The bond between Jaxson and me isn't as strong as you believe," Elinor said, her tone icy. "In fact, I've been considering divorcing him. These trinkets... they're not for me. If you truly want to choose a gift for him, consider a watch. I've noticed he wears a different one every day."
The simple fact that she was aware of his daily watch choices spoke volumes. There was more to their relationship than Elinor was willing to admit.
