After leaving the hospital, I drove Sasha to my mansion. I could see the exhaustion and pain in her face, and of course, she needed a place to rest and recover. And there was no way I would take her back to the house of that scumbag.
When we entered, my mother was sitting in the living room, and she immediately stood up with a look of concern on her face.
"Who's this, Camilla?" she asked, eyeing Sasha with curiosity.
I took a deep breath, preparing myself for Mom's questions. "This is Sasha," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "She had a serious argument with her fiancé and needs a place to stay for a while. I couldn't just leave her alone in that state."
My mother nodded understandingly. "Of course, dear. Welcome to our home, Sasha. I'm Camilla's mother."
It was actually surprising that she didn't press on with any questions. And I really liked that.
