I didn't plan to hide it from Cora when I received Patricia's call at night. I knew she was listening. But it didn't matter.
Actually, it was me who called Patricia first. I hung up before she answered the phone so that she would have to call me back.
I didn't think I could hide it from Cora forever. She would find out sooner or later. I just hadn't figured out how to let her know in a suitable way that wouldn't hurt her feelings to me. That was what I was concerned about most.
