Javon’s POV
When I woke up, I was already in the hospital. The first thing I did was to look for Cora.
I turned my head from the right to the left, but I couldn't find her.
"Cora?" I called her name, but there was no response.
So, I struggled to sit up. My limbs were bandaged. I couldn't use my hand to support myself to sit up.
"Javon, what are you doing? Lie down." Cora suddenly pushed the door open. When she saw me, she shouted and rushed to my bed.
"You are not supposed to move. Your wounds may reopen," Cora said as she helped me to lie down.
"I wanted to see you," I smiled. "I was afraid that you had gone."
"Stop saying that. I'm not going anywhere." Cora's voice was gentle. She carefully pulled up the quilt and checked the pipes and lines over my body.
"Don't move. Call me or nurses if you need anything," she exhorted.
I nodded with a smile. Yes. I couldn't help smiling.
Actually, I wanted to cheer. Cora chose me. Wasn't it worth celebrating?
