LEON'S POV
I had just started to relax in the festival when one of my warriors burst into the arena, out of breath and panic-stricken. His face was pale, and before he even spoke, my stomach twisted in dread.
“Alpha… Luna Irene… she’s been taken,” he said, panting heavily.
My heart stopped for a moment and my chest tightened painfully.
“What do you mean taken?!” My voice came out sharper than I intended, but the anxiety had already set in, clawing at my insides.
The warrior flinched, his eyes filled with guilt. “We were ambushed by Rogues. It all happened so fast.”
I shot up from my chair. “Rogues?” My voice was low, dangerously close to a growl as anger began to flood through me. “How did this happen?”
“They—they masked their scent,” he stammered, looking at the ground in shame. “We didn’t sense them until it was too late. The others... they were knocked out.”
