LEON'S POV
Hearing the knock on the door, I felt a surge of irritation course through me. The moment had been perfect, and whoever was on the other side of that door was completely oblivious. Another knock followed, more urgent this time. I clenched my jaw, exhaling sharply to control my frustration. With a reluctant glance at Irene, I let go of her, my hands lingering on her waist for a beat longer.
"Stay here," I muttered, my voice gruff as I turned and headed towards the door. Whoever was interrupting better have a damn good reason.
I pulled open the door with a bit more force than necessary, my eyes locking onto Carlyle standing outside. His posture was tense, his eyes betraying a flicker of guilt. My face must have told him he interrupted something, but there was no turning back now.
"Leon," he began, clearing his throat. "All the pack members have arrived. They’re getting restless, and some are asking if we should start the feast early."
