Irene'S POV
When I first heard the doorbell ring, I assumed it was just someone from the company or the pack, probably with something important for Leon to handle. It didn’t feel like my place to intrude, so I stayed back, letting Leon deal with whoever was at the door. I didn’t want to interrupt the conversation or make anyone uncomfortable by being there unnecessarily.
But then I heard Leon’s voice rising, his tone sharp and sounding really annoyed, as if he were arguing with someone. My heart tightened at the sound, and I paused what I was doing, focusing instead on the voices coming from the doorway. I couldn’t help but lean closer, straining to catch more of the conversation.
As I listened, it became clear that Leon was arguing with his father. I furrowed my brows, not entirely sure why Louis had come to see him, but a sense of unease washed over me.
